The Middletown Farmers Market is held every Thursday afternoon, rain or shine, in the Christ Reformed United Church of Christ Parking lot at 12 South Church Street, in historic Middletown, Maryland.
This year Independence Day falls on a Thursday. The Middletown Farmers Market will be open on Thursday, July 4th, with Whistle Punk Farm Food Truck. They serve up true farm-to-fork style foods, made from locally sourced meats, veggies, and fruits from farmers in Washington and Frederick counties. Enjoy delicious food that also supports your local sustainable farms! Owner Alexis Holland has told us that she is planning a special and festive menu for the evening.
Black Rock Barbecue returns for July 11, 18, and 25 serving up a menu that focuses on smoked meats and comfort sides.
On Thursday, July 11 we will be hosting our second annual American Girl Doll event. This year’s theme is American Girl Fashion Show, and Sew and Sew Forth has planned several activities for children with their American Girl Dolls, including a runway walk and reception at 5 PM.
Amy’s Music Happy Hour returns on Thursday, July 18. This event is also sometimes referred to as Date Night at the Market, but everyone is encouraged to visit the market during the 5 o’clock hour when local musician Amy Frevert is performing familiar hit songs from the 1940s through today. Many vendors participate in this event as well by offering special deals, doing demonstrations, and giving away prizes. Just look for the Amy’s Music Happy Hour sign at each participating vendor’s tent for special offers and opportunities. Additional Music Happy Hours will be offered the third Thursday of each month.
The next session of Community Yoga at the Market with Jenuine Yogi will be held on July 25 from 5 to 6 PM in the grassy area adjacent to the market near Franklin Street. The style is Vinyasa Flow which strings together a variety of poses focusing on breathing and creating a more balanced body. No two classes are alike. Participants can be of any age, but should bring a mat if possible. There is a suggested donation is $5.00, but no one will be turned away. Additional dates for Community Yoga are August 29, September 26, and October 10.
Corner Oaks Farm continues their monthly Ground Meat Give-Away on the last week of each month. For each $25.00 you spend with Corner Oaks Farm at the Middletown Farmers Market during the month you get one entry into the drawing. The more you spend, the more chances you have to win. The prize is two pounds of hamburger or loose sausage, mix and match.
Sew and Sew Forth is also holding a monthly drawing. Spend $25.00 anytime during the month with Sew and Sew Forth at the Middletown Farmers Market, and be entered to win a free American Girl Doll outfit. The drawing is held on the last week of each month.
In August, we will host the rescheduled Woodworking Kids Craft Day, celebrate National Famers Market Week, and enjoy another evening of live music with The Lowe Road, in addition to Amy’s Music Happy Hour, and Community Yoga at the Market.
